Everywhere Basaa people have settled, they have developed a new language, sometimes a new script. This says that the Basaa nation does not have one language. The Basaa of Cameroon do not speak the same language as the Bassa of Liberia, although a few major words concord. Rather than be a weakness, this is a wealth of concepts, idioms, and words because we can now borrow from one another, rather than from Latin or Greek. It is the same thing with Basaa scripts. The Basaa Nation has developed more than one script. The most used is the Ge'ez script used in Ethiopia. Seventy (70) million people use it daily.
